A man diagnosed with cancer in 2001, outlived his initial prognosis by seven years, and passed away this month. He was suffering from a malignant form of mesothelioma.
After the initial mesothelioma diagnosis, the physician treating James Rhio O’Connor said he will live one more year, maximum. Surgery was not an option, because the tumor was positioned in a very delicate area. The patient also chose to treat himself, refusing to undergo chemotherapy or any other medical treatments for mesothelioma. He developed a treatment plan, helped by professional medical staff. He ate more than one hundred supplements each day, following a very strict nutritious diet. He was inspired by Hippocrates, who said that treatment for any type of disease should consist of healthy food.
The patient also published a book "They said Months, I Chose Years": A Mesothelioma Survivor’s Story, with his complete story about mesothelioma cancer and alternative treatment. He revealed that he was not worried about suffering from cancer after the initial diagnosis.
O’Connor was very careful about what he was eating, and included organic and whole food in his diet. He consumed a limited amount of meat each week, and only range fed beef. He also ate fresh fish and fruits, and he always washed his vegetables and fruits with a vinegar solution before eating them, in order to clean them from any toxins they might have been sprayed with.
In his book, O’Connor recommends that of you want to treat yourself you should follow the recommendations of a professional clinician. He also stated that the supplements he consumed each day cost him approximately 1000 dollars each month.
O’Connor’s family consisted of his mother, brother, sister, wife, three daughters, a son, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They all outlived him.
